[426] Then the Venerable Mahācunda approached the Blessed One; having approached, he paid homage to the Blessed One and sat down to one side. As the Venerable Mahācunda was sitting to one side, the Blessed One said this to him: "Cunda, may the factors of awakening (bojjhaṅga) spring to mind for you." "Venerable sir, these seven factors of awakening have been rightly expounded by the Blessed One; developed and cultivated, they lead to direct knowledge (abhiññā), to full awakening, to Nibbāna. What seven?"
