[45] Setting at Sāvatthī. Then Nandiya the wanderer (paribbājaka) approached the Blessed One; having approached, he exchanged greetings with the Blessed One, and when the courteous and memorable talk was concluded, he sat down to one side. Sitting to one side, Nandiya the wanderer said this to the Blessed One: "How many things, Master Gotama, when developed and cultivated, lead to Nibbāna, have Nibbāna as their destination, have Nibbāna as their final goal?"
"These eight things, Nandiya, when developed and cultivated, lead to Nibbāna, have Nibbāna as their destination, have Nibbāna as their final goal. Which eight? Namely: right view (sammādiṭṭhi) … right concentration (sammāsamādhi). These eight things, Nandiya, when developed and cultivated, lead to Nibbāna, have Nibbāna as their destination, have Nibbāna as their final goal."
