[553] Bhikkhus, whatever sensual desire (kāmacchanda) there is internally, that too is a hindrance (nīvaraṇa); whatever sensual desire there is externally, that too is a hindrance. Thus this comes down in the summary as "the hindrance of sensual desire," and by this method it becomes twofold.
