[554] Bhikkhus, whatever ill will (byāpāda) there is internally, that too is a hindrance (nīvaraṇa); whatever ill will there is externally, that too is a hindrance. Thus it is that this comes under the summary statement 'the hindrance of ill will.' In this way, by this method, it becomes twofold.
