[586] "Friends, the ascetic Gotama teaches the Dhamma to his disciples thus: 'Come, bhikkhus, having abandoned the five hindrances (nīvaraṇa), the corruptions (upakkilesa) of the mind (citta) that weaken wisdom (paññā), dwell pervading one direction with a mind imbued with loving-kindness…'"
