[603] "Brāhmaṇa, at whatever time one dwells with a mind (citta) obsessed by sensual lust (kāmarāga), overwhelmed by sensual lust, and does not understand and does not see as it really is (yathābhūta) the escape (nissaraṇa) from arisen sensual lust — at that time one does not understand and does not see as it really is even one's own good; at that time one does not understand and does not see as it really is even the good of others; at that time one does not understand and does not see as it really is even the good of both. Then even sacred hymns (mantā) long recited do not recur to the mind, let alone those not recited."
