[640] "Venerable sir, what is the name of this exposition of the Dhamma (dhammapariyāya)?" "Prince, these are called the factors of awakening (bojjhaṅga)." "Indeed, Blessed One, they are factors of awakening! Indeed, Fortunate One (Sugata), they are factors of awakening! Venerable sir, one endowed with even a single factor of awakening would know and see as it really is (yathābhūta) — what, then, should be said of one endowed with all seven factors of awakening? Venerable sir, even the bodily fatigue and the mental fatigue that were mine from climbing Mount Gijjhakūṭa have been tranquilized, and the Dhamma has been penetrated by me." Here is the summary (uddāna): Nutriment, the exposition, fire,¹ the friend,² and with Sagārava, and Abhaya, who was asked a question, on Mount Gijjhakūṭa. The Bojjhaṅga Sixth (Bojjhaṅgachaṭṭhaka), the sixth chapter of the Bojjhaṅga-saṃyutta, is finished. __________________ [Variant readings in the Pali source: the Burmese and (PTS/European) editions read "bhāvitena cittena" at the points marked ๑–๒ above; ¹ Burmese edition: "āhārāpariyāyamaggi"; ² Burmese and (PTS/European) editions: "mettaṃ saṅgāravena ca."] The Repetition Series Beginning with Ānāpāna (Ānāpānādipeyyāla), the seventh section of the Bojjhaṅga(-saṃyutta).
