[639] Furthermore, Prince, a bhikkhu … develops the equanimity factor of awakening (upekkhāsambojjhaṅga), dependent on seclusion (viveka), dependent on dispassion (virāga), dependent on cessation, maturing in relinquishment (vossagga). As he develops the equanimity factor of awakening, with that mind (citta) he knows and sees as it really is. This too, Prince, is a cause, this is a condition, for knowledge (ñāṇa), for vision. Thus, too, knowledge and vision come to be with a cause, with a condition.
