[721] "Ānanda, not directing the mind (citta) outwardly, a bhikkhu understands: 'My mind is not directed outwardly.' Then he understands: '[My mind is] unconstricted with respect to what comes after and what came before, liberated, undirected.' And then further he understands: 'I dwell contemplating the mind in the mind, ardent, clearly comprehending, mindful — I am happy.'"
