[722] Ānanda, not directing the mind (citta) outward, a bhikkhu understands: 'My mind is undirected outwardly.' Then he understands: 'It is unconstricted behind and in front, liberated, undirected.' And further, he understands: 'I dwell contemplating dhammas in dhammas, ardent, clearly comprehending, mindful — I am happy.'
