[88] "Uttiya, it is for the abandoning of these five cords of sensual pleasure (kāmaguṇa) that the Noble Eightfold Path (ariya aṭṭhaṅgika magga) is to be developed. And what is the Noble Eightfold Path? It is this: right view (sammādiṭṭhi) … right concentration (samādhi, sammāsamādhi). It is for the abandoning of these five cords of sensual pleasure, Uttiya, that the Noble Eightfold Path is to be developed."
