[143] Having received back what was forfeited (nissaṭṭha), it should not be used by way of bodily use, nor should it be consumed. It may be applied to a lamp or to black coloring. By another bhikkhu it may be used by way of bodily use, but it should not be consumed.
When the seven days have not passed, if he perceives that they have passed, there is an offense of wrong-doing (dukkaṭa). When the seven days have not passed, if he is in doubt, there is an offense of wrong-doing. When the seven days have not passed, if he perceives that they have not passed, there is no offense.
[Editorial footnote of the Siam Raṭṭha edition:] ¹ From this point onward the word "iti" appears throughout. It should be understood as superfluous. Its superfluity should be understood according to the method stated in the first Kaṭhina training rule.
