[362] "One who speaks evasively" (aññavādaka) means: when being examined in the midst of the Saṅgha concerning a matter (vatthu) or an offense (āpatti), not wishing to speak of it, not wishing to disclose it, he evades the point by bringing up one thing after another, saying: "Who has committed it? What has he committed? In regard to what has he committed it? How has he committed it? Of whom do you speak? Of what do you speak?" — this is called "one who speaks evasively."
