[365] When (the charge of) evasive speech (aññavādaka) has been imposed, being examined in the midst of the Saṅgha concerning a matter or an offense (āpatti), not wishing to speak of it, not wishing to disclose it, he evades by speaking of one thing in terms of another, saying, "Who has committed…? … What are you saying?" — there is an offense of pācittiya.
When (the charge of) vexation (vihesaka) has been imposed, being examined in the midst of the Saṅgha concerning a matter or an offense, not wishing to speak of it, not wishing to disclose it, having fallen silent he vexes the Saṅgha — there is an offense of pācittiya.
