[367] There is no offense (anāpatti): he asks because he does not understand; being ill, he does not speak; he does not speak, thinking, "There will be strife, quarreling, contention, or dispute for the Saṅgha"; he does not speak, thinking, "There will be a schism in the Saṅgha (saṅghabheda) or a rift in the Saṅgha (saṅgharāji)"; he does not speak, thinking, "(The Saṅgha) will carry out a formal act (kamma) unrighteously, or by an incomplete assembly, or against one who does not deserve the act"; for one who is mad; for the first offender.
