[399] "If he should direct the work beyond that, even while standing on a place free of green crops" means: for one covering with bricks, for each brick there is an offence entailing expiation (pācittiya). For one covering with stone slabs, for each slab there is an offence entailing expiation. For one plastering with lime, for each lump there is an offence entailing expiation. For one covering with grass, for each bundle there is an offence entailing expiation. For one covering with leaves, for each leaf there is an offence entailing expiation.
