[436] "Should speak thus" means: desiring to disparage, desiring to bring disgrace upon, desiring to embarrass one who is fully ordained (upasampanna) and has been agreed upon by the Saṅgha as an exhorter of bhikkhunīs, he speaks thus — he says, "You exhort for the sake of robes, for the sake of almsfood, for the sake of lodging, for the sake of medicinal requisites for the sick, for the sake of honor (sakkāra), for the sake of respect, for the sake of esteem, for the sake of homage, for the sake of veneration" — he commits an offense of pācittiya.
