[437] When the formal act is legitimate (dhammakamma), and he perceives it as a legitimate act, and speaks thus, there is an offense (āpatti) of pācittiya. When the formal act is legitimate, and he is in doubt, and speaks thus, there is an offense of pācittiya. When the formal act is legitimate, and he perceives it as an illegitimate act (adhammakamma), and speaks thus, there is an offense of pācittiya.
