[511] There is no offence (anāpatti) if, when there is a reason, he consumes what is allowable for a watch of the night (yāmakālika), what is allowable for seven days (sattāhakālika), or what is allowable for as long as life lasts (yāvajīvika); nor for one who is insane; nor for the first offender (ādikammika).
