[515] There is no offence (anāpatti): if he stores what may be consumed within the proper time (yāvakālika) and eats it within the proper time; if he stores what may be consumed within a watch of the night (yāmakālika) and eats it within the watch; if he stores what may be consumed within seven days (sattāhakālika) and eats it within the seven days; if, when there is a reason, he makes use of what may be consumed as long as life lasts (yāvajīvika); if he is insane; if he is the first offender (ādikammika).
