[518] "Those which are superior foods": **ghee** (sappi) means ghee of cows, or ghee of goats, or ghee of buffaloes¹ — ghee of those animals whose flesh is allowable.
**Fresh butter** (navanīta) means fresh butter of those very same animals.
**Oil** (tela) means sesame oil, mustard-seed oil, madhuka oil, castor oil, or oil from tallow.
**Honey** (madhu) means honey of bees.
**Molasses** (phāṇita) means that which is produced from sugar-cane.
**Fish** (maccha) means what is called a creature that moves in the water.
**Meat** (maṃsa) means the meat of those animals whose flesh is allowable.
**Milk** (khīra) means milk of cows, or milk of goats, or milk of buffaloes — milk of those animals whose flesh is allowable.
**Curds** (dadhi) means curds of those very same animals.
