[754] There is no offence: in the case of a block (gaṇḍikā)¹; a fire-drill (araṇika); a buckle (vīthi)²; an ointment-box (añjanī); an ointment-stick (añjanī-salākā); the handle of an adze (vāsī-jaṭa); a water-wiper (udakapuñchanī); if the **bhikkhu** is mad; or if he is the first offender.
