[765] **A sitting cloth (nisīdana)** is said to be one having a border (sadasa). **In having it made** means: making it himself or having it made by another. It must be made to the proper measure. Herein this is the measure: in length, two spans of the Sugata span (sugatavidatthi); across, one and a half spans; the border, one span. If he makes it, or has it made, exceeding that measure, there is an offense of wrong-doing (dukkaṭa) in the act of making; upon acquisition, having cut it down, the offense of expiation (pācittiya) is to be confessed.
