[771] There is no offence (anāpatti): if he makes it to the proper measure; if he makes it less than the measure; if, having obtained one made by another exceeding the measure, he cuts it down and uses it; if he makes it into a canopy, or a ground-covering, or a screen-wall, or a mattress, or a pillow; if he is insane; if he is the first offender.
