[843] Origin at Sāvatthī. Now on that occasion the group-of-six bhikkhus talked with a mouthful in the mouth. … "I shall not talk with a mouthful in the mouth" — thus the training is to be undertaken.
One should not talk with a mouthful in the mouth. Whatever bhikkhu, out of disrespect, talks with a mouthful in the mouth commits an offence of wrong-doing (dukkaṭa).
There is no offence: if it is unintentional; if he is unmindful; if he does not know; if he is ill; in emergencies; if he is insane; if he is the first offender.
