[178] Bhikkhus, it is impossible, there is no chance, that one possessed of good conduct in thought (manosucarita) could, with that as its source, with that as its condition, upon the breaking up of the body, after death, be reborn in a state of loss (apāya), a bad destination, a place of perdition, hell — this is not possible. But it is indeed possible, bhikkhus, that one possessed of good conduct in thought could, with that as its source, with that as its condition, upon the breaking up of the body, after death, be reborn in a good destination, a heavenly world — this is possible.
