[250] Bhikkhus, there are these two things that do not cause torment. What two? Here, bhikkhus, someone has done good conduct by body (kāyasucarita) and has not done misconduct by body (kāyaduccarita); he has done good conduct by speech (vacīsucarita) and has not done misconduct by speech (vacīduccarita); he has done good conduct by mind (manosucarita) and has not done misconduct by mind (manoduccarita). He is not tormented, [knowing] "Good conduct by body has been done by me"; he is not tormented, [knowing] "Misconduct by body has not been done by me"; he is not tormented, [knowing] "Good conduct by speech has been done by me"; he is not tormented, [knowing] "Misconduct by speech has not been done by me"; he is not tormented, [knowing] "Good conduct by mind has been done by me"; he is not tormented, [knowing] "Misconduct by mind has not been done by me." These, bhikkhus, are the two things that do not cause torment.
