[285] Bhikkhus, I do not praise wrong practice (micchāpaṭipatti) in two: in a layperson or in one gone forth (pabbajita). Bhikkhus, whether a layperson or one gone forth, practicing wrongly, by reason of undertaking wrong practice, does not attain the true way (ñāya), the wholesome Dhamma. Bhikkhus, I praise right practice (sammāpaṭipatti) in two: in a layperson or in one gone forth. Bhikkhus, whether a layperson or one gone forth, practicing rightly, by reason of undertaking right practice, attains the true way, the wholesome Dhamma.
