[308] [62] "Bhikkhus, in whatever disciplinary case (adhikaraṇa) the exchange of verbal abuse from both sides (ubhatovacīsaṃsāra), rivalry over views (diṭṭhipalāsa), mental resentment (āghāta), displeasure, and bitterness are not inwardly stilled, it is to be expected of that case, bhikkhus, that it will lead to being protracted, harsh, and fierce, and the bhikkhus will not dwell at ease. But, bhikkhus, in whatever disciplinary case the exchange of verbal abuse from both sides, rivalry over views, mental resentment, displeasure, and bitterness are inwardly well stilled, it is to be expected of that case, bhikkhus, that it will not lead to being protracted, harsh, and fierce, and the bhikkhus will dwell at ease."
