[314] Bhikkhus, there are these two kinds of happiness (sukha). What two? Noble happiness (ariyasukha) and ignoble happiness (anariyasukha). These, bhikkhus, are the two kinds of happiness. Of these two kinds of happiness, bhikkhus, this is the foremost: namely, noble happiness.
