[432] Bhikkhus, one possessing two qualities is deposited in heaven (sagga) as surely as if brought and placed there. What two? Non-anger (akkodha) and non-resentment (anupanāha) ... non-denigration (amakkha) and non-domineering (apaḷāsa) ... non-envy (anissā) and non-stinginess (amacchariya) ... non-deceit (amāyā) and non-hypocrisy (asāṭheyya) ... moral shame (hiri) and moral dread (ottappa). Bhikkhus, one possessing these two qualities is deposited in heaven as surely as if brought and placed there.
