[431] 185. "Bhikkhus, one possessing two qualities is deposited in hell (niraya) as if carried and placed there. Which two? Anger (kodha) and grudge (upanāha) … denigration (makkha) and domineering (paḷāsa) … envy (issā) and meanness (macchariya) … deceit (māyā) and hypocrisy (sāṭheyya) … shamelessness (ahirika) and lack of moral dread (anottappa). Possessing these two qualities, bhikkhus, one is deposited in hell as if carried and placed there."
