[547] 108. Bhikkhus, in the discipline (vinaya) of the Noble One, singing is wailing. Bhikkhus, in the discipline of the Noble One, dancing is madness. Bhikkhus, in the discipline of the Noble One, laughing excessively, showing the teeth, is childishness. Therefore, bhikkhus, demolish the bridge (setughāta) with regard to singing; demolish the bridge with regard to dancing. It is enough for you good ones, rejoicing in the Dhamma, to smile a mere smile.
