The concentration (samādhi) on emptiness (suññato samādhi), the signless concentration (animitto samādhi), and the undirected concentration (appaṇihito samādhi). Bhikkhus, for direct knowledge of lust, these three dhammas should be developed. Bhikkhus, for full understanding (pariññā) of lust … for its utter exhaustion, for its abandoning, for its destruction, for its vanishing, for dispassion (virāga) towards it, for its cessation, for giving it up, for its relinquishment, these three dhammas should be developed. For direct knowledge, for full understanding, for utter exhaustion, for abandoning, for destruction, for vanishing, for dispassion, for cessation, for giving up, and for relinquishment of hatred (dosa), of delusion (moha), of anger (kodha), of hostility (upanāha), of denigration (makkha), of domineering (paḷāsa), of envy (issā), of miserliness (macchariya), of deceit (māyā), of hypocrisy (sāṭheyya), of obstinacy (thambha), of contentiousness (sārambha), of conceit (māna), of arrogance (atimāna), of vanity (mada), and of heedlessness (pamāda), these three dhammas should be developed.
