[137] Bhikkhus, these four kinds of persons (puggala) are found existing in the world. What four? Here, bhikkhus, a certain person does not give weight to virtue (sīla), does not take virtue as his dominant influence (sīlādhipateyya); does not give weight to concentration (samādhi), does not take concentration as his dominant influence; does not give weight to wisdom (paññā), does not take wisdom as his dominant influence. Again, bhikkhus, a certain person here gives weight to virtue and takes virtue as his dominant influence, but does not give weight to concentration, does not take concentration as his dominant influence; does not give weight to wisdom, does not take wisdom as his dominant influence. Again, bhikkhus, a certain person here gives weight to virtue and takes virtue as his dominant influence, gives weight to concentration and takes concentration as his dominant influence, but does not give weight to wisdom, does not take wisdom as his dominant influence. Again, bhikkhus, a certain person here gives weight to virtue and takes virtue as his dominant influence, gives weight to concentration and takes concentration as his dominant influence, and gives weight to wisdom and takes wisdom as his dominant influence. These, bhikkhus, are the four kinds of persons found existing in the world.
