[148] Bhikkhus, there are these four kinds of misconduct by speech (vacī-duccarita). What four? False speech (musāvāda), divisive speech (pisuṇā vācā), harsh speech (pharusā vācā), and frivolous talk (samphappalāpa). These, bhikkhus, are the four kinds of misconduct by speech.
