[247] Bhikkhus, there are these four who are worthy of a stūpa (thūpāraha). What four? A Tathāgata, Accomplished (arahaṃ) and Fully Self-Enlightened One (sammāsambuddho), is worthy of a stūpa; a Paccekabuddha is worthy of a stūpa; a disciple of the Tathāgata is worthy of a stūpa; a wheel-turning monarch (rājā cakkavattī) is worthy of a stūpa. These, bhikkhus, are the four who are worthy of a stūpa.
