[207] Bhikkhus, there are these five benefits (ānisaṃsa) of rice gruel (yāgu). What five? It dispels hunger, it dispels thirst, it regulates the wind, it cleanses the bladder, and it digests the remnants of undigested food. These, bhikkhus, are the five benefits of rice gruel.
