[347] Bhikkhus, without abandoning six dhammas one is incapable of realizing arahantship (arahatta). Which six? Conceit (māna), the conceit of inferiority (omāna), excessive conceit (atimāna), overestimation (adhimāna), obstinacy (thambha), and self-abasement (atinipāta). Bhikkhus, without abandoning these six dhammas one is incapable of realizing arahantship.
Bhikkhus, having abandoned six dhammas one is capable of realizing arahantship. Which six? Conceit, the conceit of inferiority, excessive conceit, overestimation, obstinacy, and self-abasement. Bhikkhus, having abandoned these six dhammas one is capable of realizing arahantship.
