[374] Bhikkhus, seeing six benefits, it is quite enough for a bhikkhu to establish the perception of suffering (dukkha) in all conditioned things (saṅkhārā), making no limitation. What six? "The perception of Nibbāna will be established in me toward all conditioned things, as toward a murderer with sword upraised; my mind (citta) will emerge from the entire world; I shall become one who sees peace in Nibbāna; my latent tendencies (anusaya) will come to be uprooted; I shall become one who does his duty; and the Teacher will have been served by me with a service of loving-kindness (mettā)." Bhikkhus, seeing these six benefits, it is quite enough for a bhikkhu to establish the perception of suffering in all conditioned things, making no limitation.
