[272] Bhikkhus, there are these five destinations (gati). What five? Hell (niraya), the animal realm (tiracchānayoni), the realm of hungry ghosts (pittivisaya), humans, and devas. These, bhikkhus, are the five destinations. Bhikkhus, for the abandonment of these five destinations, these four establishments of mindfulness (satipaṭṭhāna) should be developed.
