[120] "Bhikkhus, I will teach you the noble descent (paccorohaṇī). Listen to it …
"And what, bhikkhus, is the noble descent? Here, bhikkhus, a noble disciple reflects thus: 'The result of wrong view (micchādiṭṭhi) is evil both in this very life and in the life to come.' Having reflected thus, he abandons wrong view; he descends from wrong view. 'The result of wrong thought (micchāsaṅkappa) … of wrong speech (micchāvācā) … of wrong action (micchākammanta) … of wrong livelihood (micchā-ājīva) … of wrong effort (micchāvāyāma) … of wrong mindfulness (micchāsati) … of wrong concentration (micchāsamādhi) … of wrong knowledge (micchāñāṇa) … of wrong deliverance (micchāvimutti) is evil both in this very life and in the life to come.' Having reflected thus, he abandons wrong deliverance; he descends from wrong deliverance. This, bhikkhus, is called the noble descent."
