[190] Bhikkhus, a woman (mātugāma) possessing ten qualities is deposited in hell (niraya) as if carried off and placed there. Which ten? She is one who destroys life (pāṇātipātī) … she is one of wrong view (micchādiṭṭhi). Possessing these ten qualities, bhikkhus, a woman is deposited in hell as if carried off and placed there. Bhikkhus, a woman possessing ten qualities is placed in heaven (sagga) as if carried up and placed there. Which ten? She abstains from the destruction of life … she is one of right view (sammādiṭṭhi). Possessing these ten qualities, bhikkhus, a woman is placed in heaven as if carried up and placed there.
