[56] 6. Thus have I heard.
On one occasion the Blessed One was dwelling at Sāvatthī, in the Jetavana, Anāthapiṇḍika's Park. Now on that occasion a certain wanderer (paribbājaka) had as his wife a young brahmin girl (māṇavikā), who was pregnant and near her time of delivery. Then the female wanderer (paribbājikā) said this to the wanderer: "Go, brahmin, fetch oil, which will be of use to me when I have given birth." When this was said, the wanderer said this to the female wanderer: "But from where can I fetch oil for the lady?" A second time the female wanderer said this to the wanderer: "Go, brahmin, fetch oil, which will be of use to me when I have given birth." A second time the wanderer said this to the female wanderer: "But from where can I fetch oil for the lady?" A third time the female wanderer said this to the wanderer: "Go, brahmin, fetch oil, which will be of use to me when I have given birth."
