[61] Then Suppavāsā, the daughter of the Koliyas, addressed her husband: "Come, my lord (ayyaputta), go to the Blessed One, and having approached, pay homage in my name with your head at the Blessed One's feet, saying: 'Venerable sir, Suppavāsā, the daughter of the Koliyas, pays homage with her head at the Blessed One's feet.' And say this: 'Venerable sir, Suppavāsā, the daughter of the Koliyas, carried a child in her womb for seven years, and for seven days she was in obstructed labour (mūḷhagabbhā). Now she is happy and free from illness, and has given birth to a son free from illness. She invites the Saṅgha of bhikkhus (bhikkhusaṅgha), with the Buddha at its head, to a meal for seven days. Venerable sir, may the Blessed One, together with the Saṅgha of bhikkhus, please consent to accept the seven meals of Suppavāsā, the daughter of the Koliyas.'" "Very well," that son of the Koliyas assented to Suppavāsā, the daughter of the Koliyas, and he approached the Blessed One; having approached and paid homage to the Blessed One, he sat down at one side. Seated at one side, that son of the Koliyas said this to the Blessed One: "Venerable sir, Suppavāsā, the daughter of the Koliyas, pays homage with her head at the Blessed One's feet; and she says this: 'Venerable sir, Suppavāsā, the daughter of the Koliyas, carried a child in her womb for seven years, and for seven days she was in obstructed labour.
