[76] Thus have I heard. On one occasion the Blessed One was dwelling at Sāvatthī, in Jeta's Grove, Anāthapiṇḍika's Park. Now on that occasion the Venerable Sāriputta was seated not far from the Blessed One, having folded his legs crosswise, set his body erect, and established mindfulness (sati) in front of him. The Blessed One saw the Venerable Sāriputta seated not far away, having folded his legs crosswise, set his body erect, and established mindfulness in front of him.
Then the Blessed One, having understood this matter, at that time uttered this inspired utterance (udāna):
Just as a mountain of rock — unshaken, well established —
so, through the destruction of delusion (moha), a bhikkhu, like a mountain, does not tremble.
