[281] 4. "Whatever is to be done by one of firm energy (viriya), whatever is to be done by one who wishes to awaken, that I shall do, and I shall not fail: behold my energy and exertion! And you — declare to me the path (magga), the straight way that plunges into the Deathless (amata); I shall reach it through sagehood (mona), as the stream of the Gaṅgā reaches the ocean."
