[296] 9. Having arranged over my shoulder a robe the color of a mango shoot, seated on an elephant's neck, I entered the village for alms. Having descended from the elephant's back, I then gained a sense of urgency (saṃvega); then I, who had been arrogant, became calm: the destruction of the taints (āsava) has been attained by me.
