[350] 4. I, Kulla, having gone to the charnel ground (sīvathikā), saw a woman cast away,
discarded in the cemetery, being devoured, teeming with worms.
See, Kulla, this body (samussaya) — afflicted, impure, putrid,
oozing and dripping — the delight of fools.
Having taken up the mirror of the Dhamma (dhammādāsa) for the attainment of knowledge and vision (ñāṇadassana),
I examined this body, empty within and without.
As this [body] is, so is that [corpse]; as that is, so is this;
as below, so above; as above, so below.
As by day, so by night; as by night, so by day;
as before, so after; as after, so before.
There is no such delight from music of five instruments
as there is for one whose mind (citta) is unified, rightly seeing the Dhamma with insight.
