[429] 10. Four times, five times, I went out from my dwelling (vihāra), not having gained peace of mind, having no mastery over the mind (citta). For me, such as I was, this is the eighth night since craving (taṇhā) was uprooted. Through many states of suffering (dukkha), delighting in heedfulness (appamāda), I have attained the destruction of craving; the Buddha's teaching (sāsana) has been done. Sāmā.
